Will I be allowed to place MIS and Market orders in Commodity Options?
MIS orders are not permitted in Commodity options due to insufficient market depth and to prevent freak trades. Instead, you could place Carry forward/CNC Orders.
Kotak Securities risk management team allows trading in nearest 2 contracts in commodity derivatives and blocks far contracts to avoid the risk of freak trades due to lack of market depth and higher bid ask spreads.
Commodities on old ITMS platform is being discontinued, no fresh positions shall be allowed after a particular time (4pm onwards). To know more, clients are requested to get in touch with Customer service.
