How do I pledge shares?

To pledge your shares,

1. Go to the funds section and click on "pledge shares for more margin"
2. You will see the eligible list of shares that can be pledged, along with the margin. Select the shares and quantity you wish to pledge and click on the pledge button

Once you submit your request, you will receive an SMS and email from the depository (NSDL) within few hours. You will have to authorize the pledge request at the depository to activate the pledge.

1. Click on the link received in the SMS/email
2. You will be redirected to NSDL webpage, where you will be required to enter the PAN number to be able to generate an OTP
3. Enter the OTP received on your registered mobile number and email to authorize the pledge request
4. Once the pledge request is successful, you would receive margin in your trading account on the next trading day

You can now login to the Kotak Securities Neo app to invest using the margin received against the pledged shares.

Your mutual funds can also be pledged if they are eligible for the same. Click here to check the list of mutual funds eligible for pledging and the margin given against each.

Note: In case, you do not see a mutual fund in the pledge section of the app, although it is present in the above list of eligible mutual funds for pledging, you can get in touch with our customer support team at 1800-209-9191 from Mon-Sat, 9:00 AM-6:00 PM.
