BLS International Services Company background

Founded in: 1983
Managing director: Nikhil Gupta

BLS International Services Limited, established in November 1983, is a prominent specialist provider of outsourcing services for visa, passport, and attestation processes. The company caters to governments and diplomatic missions globally, providing administrative and non-judgmental services related to the entire life cycle of visa application processes. By streamlining and managing various tasks involved in visa processing, BLS allows diplomatic missions to focus entirely on the assessment and decision-making aspects of visa applications, such as conducting interviews where required. BLS International Services Limited is also an authorized service provider for the attestation of documents by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), India. With expertise in the consular services domain, BLS offers seamless visa and attestation solutions, supporting embassies and high commissions worldwide in processing visa applications, verifying documents, and managing consular frameworks.

As an outsourcing partner, BLS provides complete solutions with the necessary infrastructure, skilled human resources, and cutting-edge technical capabilities. The company’s portfolio includes biometric solutions, which play an essential role in ensuring that visa application and attestation processes are executed efficiently and securely. BLS International has built a strong reputation for delivering these services with the utmost precision and reliability. The company also boasts the necessary financial resources to meet the needs of various diplomatic missions across the world, ensuring that the visa processing systems operate smoothly and effectively.

BLS International began its global operations in 2010, marking a significant milestone in its growth trajectory. The company expanded its footprint by starting operations for several Indian embassies, including the Indian Embassy in Spain, Kuwait, Sudan, and Russia. This expansion allowed BLS to provide visa application services for Indian nationals and foreign nationals applying for Indian visas in these regions. BLS’s ability to establish a strong presence in these countries was crucial in strengthening its reputation as a reliable visa outsourcing provider. In 2011, the company further expanded by starting Visa Application Centres (VACs) for the Indian Embassy in the UAE and several other Indian missions across South Asian countries.

In 2012, BLS took another leap by commencing operations for Indian missions in Saudi Arabia and Singapore, further extending its global reach. The company’s expansion continued in 2013 and 2014, when BLS began operations for various foreign missions abroad, including four missions for an EU country, as well as adding seven more Indian missions across the globe. This period marked the beginning of BLS’s leadership in the outsourced visa services industry.

As BLS diversified its offerings, it not only focused on consular services but also gained significant expertise in Citizen Services. In 2016-17, the company ventured into the e-governance space, gaining a first-mover advantage with the Punjab e-Governance project. This initiative led to the company securing its first international Citizen Services contract with the Embassy of Afghanistan, marking an important milestone in BLS’s service diversification strategy. The company then extended its services to other countries and regions, such as Nigeria and Lebanon, where it began providing consular services in 2017, further enhancing its global presence.

In 2018, BLS International made a strategic move by acquiring a majority stake in the business correspondent vertical of Starfin India Private Limited through its subsidiary, BLS EServices Private Limited. This acquisition was an important step for the company as it broadened its portfolio and strengthened its position in the business correspondent segment. In the same year, BLS entered into a significant contract with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Italy, allowing the company to process Italian visa applications in Singapore. This move reflected BLS’s growing influence and expertise in global visa services, as it expanded its role in providing visa services for a broader range of international clients.

In November 2018, BLS also acquired 51% of the share capital in Reired BLS International Private Limited, further consolidating its position in the international visa outsourcing market. The company continued its acquisition strategy by acquiring Zero Mass Private Ltd, India’s largest business correspondent, in June 2022. This acquisition, funded through cash accruals, catapulted BLS to the position of India’s largest business correspondent network, cementing its dominance in the sector. The acquisition was aligned with BLS’s long-term strategy to build a robust and expansive business correspondent network and diversify its portfolio further.

BLS International’s growth trajectory has been marked by an ongoing expansion of its services and network across the globe. In 2019-20, the company opened new Visa Application Centres (VACs) in various countries, including Vietnam, Turkey, Lebanon, and Morocco. For example, the company launched a Brazil Visa Application Centre in Lebanon to offer efficient visa application services to individuals traveling to Brazil from Lebanon for business, leisure, or work. It also entered into an exclusive partnership with the Embassy of Libya to provide visa services in 2019. Furthermore, BLS expanded its operations by opening new Spain Visa Application Centres in Belarus and Miami, strengthening its global network.

BLS International’s continued success in expanding its network of VACs is a testament to its ability to cater to the growing demand for streamlined visa application services globally. By relocating existing Visa Application Centres to larger sites in countries such as Turkey and Tashkent, BLS has ensured that it can handle increasing applicant volumes and offer enhanced services to its clients. This flexibility and ability to scale operations has been key to BLS’s continued growth and global success in the visa services industry.

In recent years, BLS International Services has continued to enhance its service offerings and enter new markets. In 2023, the company expanded its reach even further by being authorized by the Royal Thai Embassy to provide visa services in Kenya. This move demonstrates BLS’s ongoing commitment to expanding its global footprint and offering its visa services to more countries around the world. The company’s continuous efforts to innovate and adapt to changing market demands make it well-positioned for further growth.

Moreover, BLS International has demonstrated its ability to leverage technology to enhance its visa processing services. The company’s investments in biometric solutions, secure document handling, and process automation have allowed it to improve the efficiency and accuracy of its visa services. These technological advancements not only streamline operations but also enhance the customer experience, making BLS a preferred partner for diplomatic missions and clients worldwide.

BLS International Services Limited’s extensive experience and broad portfolio of services have positioned it as a global leader in the outsourcing of visa, passport, and attestation services. The company’s strategic acquisitions, global network of Visa Application Centres, and innovative service offerings have enabled it to cater to the diverse needs of clients worldwide. As BLS continues to expand its services and adapt to market trends, its continued growth and success in the visa outsourcing industry seem assured. Furthermore, the BLS International Services share price remains a focal point for investors, reflecting the company's strong market presence and future potential. The company’s ability to maintain its leadership in the industry, coupled with its expansion into new markets and sectors, ensures that BLS will continue to thrive in the coming years.
