To open an NRI account online, individuals must meet the following criteria:
Reside outside of India for 182 days or more in the last financial year, or for 365 days or more in the last four financial years.
Hold employment, engage in business, or have a vocation as a source of earnings while residing abroad.
First-time travelers abroad can also convert their accounts to NRI status provided they possess a valid passport, visa, PAN card, and proof of foreign address.
Note: According to Indian law, NRI investors are eligible to participate only in delivery-based transactions.

Please note as per regulatory and compliance guidelines, it is to be ensured that when we take the bank statement for NR clients, it should be attested by the Foreign Embassy or Mission in India -- It is attestation by the Consulate/Embassy/High Commission/Diplomatic or Foreign Mission/Chancery/Permanent Mission or equivalent attestation. Ministry of Foreign Affairs/External Affairs or equivalent (as per the country) can be considered since the Ambassador, Embassy, Consulates etc. come under these types of Ministry.
