Is Grey The New Orange?

Is Grey The New Orange?

Robots. Warehouses. Sounds boring? Think again.

It all started in 2011. Two BITS Pilani grads, Samay and Akash were tinkering with robots as a hobby.

Their initial experiments with robots soon caught the eye of e-commerce giant Flipkart, and the rest, as they say, is history.

See, Flipkart needed some help as shipping times were a nightmare.

GreyOrange stepped in. The result? Shipping times slashed by 80%. Order pickups quadrupled. Suddenly, everyone wanted in on this piece of tech.

Their secret you ask? Its two game-changing intellectual properties: Sorter and Butler.

Sorter: A conveyor belt on steroids that can sort a mind-boggling 6,000 packages per hour. Faster than you can blink.

Butler: Think Roomba, but for serious business. This little robot tirelessly cruises around the warehouse picking, storing, and organising with unparalleled efficiency.

But GreyOrange's prowess goes beyond just cool tech.

Their robots seamlessly integrate with different systems making it a breeze for big retailers to scale up without any hiccups.

Powered by AI, these robots are true multi-taskers prioritising tasks based on what's most important and ensuring smooth operations and minimal downtime.

It's no wonder that GreyOrange has conquered 90% of the Indian market. Moreover, 70% of its revenue comes from international clients.

But achieving this kind of scale comes with its own set of challenges.

The big leagues are certainly taking notice.

GreyOrange is up against heavyweights like RightHand Robotics and 6 River Systems but with a steady stream of fresh ideas and a hefty pile of funding, GreyOrange is determined to maintain its edge.

Speaking of funding, their funding journey has been epic.

Angel funding from BITS Spark Angels and Blume Ventures in 2013.

Then, a massive $30 million Series B round in 2015 from Tiger Global. And a juicy $135 million Series D in 2023, for a total of over $545 million.

From a BITS Pilani dorm room to a global logistics powerhouse, GreyOrange has come a long way.

One thing is clear though, with their innovative solutions and deep pockets, GreyOrange is poised for continued growth and is set to make a lasting impression on the world of logistics.

The future? It's looking bright, and very, very orange (well, grey, but you get the point!).
